Colfax Service Station

The Associated Flying "A" service station pictured was
located on the corner of South Auburn Street and Highway 174.
In my days around Colfax this would be the Kauffman Chevorlet
lot and Repair across from Schaffer's Chevron station next
to D&M Market. The service station attendant in the sketch is
Charles W. Ramsey jr. his father (Jay MacIntrye's grandfather)
kicked him out of the house while he was in high school.
Ballinger let him live at the gas station since he was working
there. Jay’s guess is somewhere between 1934-1937.

I included a "woody" getting gas at the station.
Woodys were common in the 1930's and 1940's as farm and
family vehicles.
