Elders Corner

I've wanted to draw this for over a year but the only reference photo
I had was very small and frankly somewhat static. So I decided to add some
interest to the sketch by adding two more cars,
two gentlemen and a group of 4 kids with popsicles. Now it looks more like the
Elders I remember!

This depicts the era of mid 1940s. Gas and groceries, cold beer,
a meat market and always a happy face that greeted you.
There is something special about being recognized when
you walk in the door. Sometimes it was just a smile and
other times we would talk about the Placer game on Friday night...
The owners that worked the store were always there.
It was their store and we were their customers.

We returned often and many
times I just stopped in for a soda, some gas and the magnetic smile!
