This is from a photo taken in front of Tsuda's Grocery looking
toward Nevada Street or today, I80.
It looks to be mid to late 1930's
.

I have certain photos that I connect with and this
one has been moving up
the ladder and finally reached the top. I can hear an
ah…oogah horn from in front of the
Shanghai and some kids fishing in the ravine. I can hear a
train on the trestle
tooting to let the fruit shed manager know it’s
time to load.

Life wasn’t fast then.
And the richest folks in town were the people with
good friends and their health.
